jeev sets new hope for golf in india


Top Indian master of golf, Jeev Milkha Singh set an astonishing triumphant feather to his cap after winning the second tour event for the year 2008. He did so after winning the Japan's golf tour named as "Nagashima Shegio Invitational Sega Sammy Cup 2008"
He carded an amazing 6 under 66 in the final round . The venue was the "North Country Golf Club" in Hokkaido on Sunday.The above information is as released by the Professional Golf Tour of India.(PGTI)
Jeev is ranked world's 75th.
He secured his first title of 2008 during European's tour Bank earlier in Austria Open this year.This was his first title in Japan since the Golf Nippon Series JT Cup inTokyo in December 2006.
The 2006 Asian Tour Order of Merit winner enjoyed a two stroke victory margin on Sunday.He had an overall score of 13 under 275.He was well competed by Japan's Sushi Ishigaki who came in second at 11 under 277.Jeev rounded off his week with scores of 67,74,68,66 and66.
This Chandigarh based player has a supreme form this year as he registered two big wins this year,two runner up finishes and four other top 10s.His tied 25th at the US masters this year was also the best-ever finish by an Indian at a Major. The win in Hokkaido has propelled Jeev to seventh place on the Japan Golf Tour's Order of Merit for 2008.He is also certain to climb from his current 75th place in the world golf rankings.
